Totoro key cosy pattern, Porte clef Totoro au crochet

Here is my new pattern to make a beautiful Key Cosy in shape of a Totoro. We never have enough of Totoro's poetry in our daily life, do we ?

Here you'll find instruction to make the eyes in crochet, but you can also prefer to use felt pieces or felt wool yourself with a needle, both will work, it's up to you to choose your preferred technique.

Embroider the pupil with black yarn

SEWING - sew belly on the body, embroider the inversed "V" in grey on the belly

- sew the eyes

- embroider nose and whiskers with black yarn

- sew the ears on top of the head

- sew arms on both side : fold the arm and sew it to the body at the appropriate height, sew the bottom of the arm with only one stitch to avoid keep it in place

slst in 2nd st from the hook, sc, hdc, dc, 7 dc in last stitch

on the other side of the chain : dc, hdc, sc, slst,

fo, weave in ends

make a chain of the desired length to join both leaves :

- the chain should be long enough to get your keys out of Totoro's body

- sew the chain to the 1st leaf, weave through the magic ring at the top of Totoro's head, then through your key ring, then back though the magic ring out of the head, and sew to the 2nd leaf, weave in ends.
