Hoppip (Pokemon #187 Granivol)
Here is my Hoppip crochet free pattern, I love this flying jumping pink ball shape Pokemon !
His name is Granivol in French (from graine = seed and vol= flight)
I have imagined a trick to make its leaves stand up but with a natural material that should be more harmless than metalic wire : raffia straw
*MATERIAL Yarn : pink, green, black
Hook size : 3,5 mm
Type of yarn : Charly de Phildar or Red Heart Super Saver (any yarn that is meant for 4mm /5mm hook)
Black safety eyes 7 mm
Filling fiber
A needle for sewing
I used 2 straws of raffia to strengthen the leaves and make them stand up.
I used 7 mm safety eyes. To turn them yellow, I used nail polish : applying multiple layers until the color is opaque enough.

LEAVES in green, make 2
use a straw of raffia, fold it in 2
crochet your first row of 31 sc around folded raffia from right to left with the loop of raffia on the left side, SLST inside the loop of raffia to secure it with the yarn (sorry I forgot to mention it in my chart), ch1, turn and crochet 2nd row of 31 sc, ch1 turn and crochet 3rd row IN BACK LOOPS (see chart), ch 2 then slst in the 1st st, and finally crochet the 4th row (see chart) in both loops of sc from row #1 that was crocheted around the raffia, fo, leave tail to sew on top of the head/body. Spread your crocheted leave on the raffia straw by pulling gently the stitches.
Sew the leaves on top of the head : With a yarn needle, insert both raffia ends through the body, and secure with a knot, hide the ends inside
Sew the yarn part of the leaves as usual.
the raffia should strengthen the leave, making it stand up.
With black yarn, EMBROIDER the smile
